DESIGN CONTEST // GRANIPH AWARD . T.SHIRT CONTEST

Graniph award is a global t-shirt design competition organized by the graniph T-shirts Store. 2013 sees graniph continuing its search for worldwide design talent. The organizers are calling to designers worldwide to submit original T-shirt designs that can be printed and sold online. From the legendary, to the undiscovered, to the under-appreciated, this award is open to all with no strings attached.

There are 19 prizes to be won! The Gold Prize winner will be awarded 500,000 Yen (over $5,000 US). 

All entries should be your original work that has not been previously published elsewhere. Only flat designs such as paintings, illustrations, graphic designs, photo etc. that may be used for graniph merchandise may be used.

Final submission day is March 31st and winners announced, May 5th, 2013.

TRENDS + TEXTILE // PATTERN PEOPLE . A/W 2013 & SPRING 2014

Pattern People is a surface design studio founded by designers Claudia Brown and Jessie Whipple Vickery. Their studio provides a collection of thousands of ready-made print designs available for immediate use on apparel, paper products, beauty packaging, accessories, interiors and more.  They are also available for commissioned design and can develop to your project's specifications.

DESIGN CONTEST // DOMUS ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIPS . FASHION & ACCESSORIES

An initiative that aims at promoting talent and value. A unique opportunity which is the result of the collaboration between the Master in Fashion Design and in Accessories Design at Domus Academy and Vogue Talents, that as usual advance and promote talent.

Domus Academy and Vogue Talents offer three scholarships to attend the September 2013 edition of the Master in Fashion Design and three scholarships to attend the Master in Accessories Design. Two opportunities for graduates in fashion design, architecture and from art school and for individuals with an adequate professional background and experience in fashion.

The projects will be selected and evaluated by a judging panel composed of Sara Maino, senior fashion editor of Vogue Italia and by Domus Academy’s Fashion School faculty.

Every season seems to bring it’s fair share of conversational (novelty) prints, however this Fall they got a rather sophisticated upgrade. Skulls, spiritual symbols, and party paraphernalia were just a few of the motifs touched on by this blinged-out trend, and much to our delight. Give your accessories the night off, there are other ways to wear your jewelry.

 BLACK TIE GEOMETRICS 

Basic geo prints get a black tie upgrade in these sleek and sultry designs from the Fall 2013 runway shows. Bold shapes, linear elements and symmetry are the key elements needed to capture this print trend. This is definitely the type of LBD we like to see here at Aaryn West.

In our Fall / Winter 14/15 Intimates Inspirations we offer our view on the important key colors and color combinations for the season.
